    Great video! How do you get to this trailhead. We are hiking Mt Elbert in the fall and don’t want to do the North

    • @Learningtotravel
      @Learningtotravel 7 дней назад

      Thanks so much for the kind words on our Mt. Elbert video! 🌄 For your hike, if you're looking to avoid the North trailhead, here's a set of directions from Leadville to get you to the Black Cloud trailhead: 1. Travel south on US Hwy. 24 for about 15 miles. 2. At the junction of CO Hwy. 82, turn west towards Independence Pass and continue for around 10 miles. 3. Keep an eye out just west of the Twin Peaks Campground for a small Black Cloud sign. The trail you'll want climbs north, following the Black Cloud Creek. I believe we used AllTrails to help us find the trail. It's a beautiful route, especially in the fall. Have an amazing hike and enjoy the stunning views! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Frenchman Street is the coolest street in NOLA. While Bourbon 🥃 is for the tourists, Frenchman is for the locals. I used to work at a club on Frenchman called the Dream 💭Palace, now called the Blue Nile. My friend and I worked the upstairs bar. He bartended I bar backed and we booked bands to play. It was great 👍. The original owners were the best. It was fun. Thanx for posting this.

    • @Learningtotravel
      @Learningtotravel 19 дней назад

      Hey there! Great questions! Let’s break it down: Ticket Prices: The price for a ride on the Pike's Peak Cog Railway can vary depending on the time of year and age of the passenger. Generally, adult tickets range from $59.50 to $72, while children's tickets (12 and under) are typically around $49.50 to $62. It's always a good idea to check their official website for the most up-to-date pricing. (www.cograilway.com/ride/rates) Location of the Station: The station is located in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The address is 515 Ruxton Ave, Manitou Springs, CO 80829. It’s a charming little town that’s worth exploring before or after your train ride! Duration of the Train Ride: The trip to the summit of Pikes Peak takes about 1 hour. So, you'll be sitting on the train for a bit over an hour each way. Time at the Summit: Once you reach the summit, you'll have 40 minutes to enjoy the breathtaking views, take some photos, and maybe grab a snack or a famous Pikes Peak donut from the summit house. The train will not wait for you if you are late to return for the ride back down. I hope this helps! Enjoy your adventure on the Cog Railway - it’s truly an unforgettable experience!

      @@Learningtotravel OK, maybe they didn’t have all the stairs up there part of it was steps but towards the top it was just a trail my brother and I did it twice when I was in my teenage youth. It’s just a shame I hadn’t done it more now that I’m getting much much older than I ever thought. Hiking in Colorado has always been a love and a passion of mine. I actually hiked from Montana to Colorado Springs, Colorado by myself and it took me all summer. I stayed with my family friends, that owned the Eagles Motel. Until my father came to pick me up and I was only 15 years old.

    Hello! Later this month we're planning to hike the Black Cloud Trail (group of 5) and want to split it into a two day climb to get a head start on the PM thunderstorms, camping somewhere along the trail below the treeline. According to AllTrails there are suitable locations at 11,000' and 11,600' to set up a tent, but from personal experience, did you see any relatively flat or open spots below treeline that looked suitable for tent camping (and are large enough for a group of 5)? Thank you for sharing your climb!

    • @Learningtotravel
      @Learningtotravel 28 дней назад

      Honestly that is difficult to answer. When we last did that hike it was still relatively dark for us in that part of the trail. And we were just focused on the trail. But we both remember a wooded area that probably would have areas for camping. AllTrails is probably correct but we can not confirm 100%. Sorry we can not be more helpful but we don't want to mislead you. Enjoy your hike and that sounds like a good plan as it is a pretty long trail.
